DESCRIPTION:10.30 – 11.30 Speech presented by Inez Colyn\, WWF Switzerland \nThe presentation will illustrate\, in broad strokes\, today’s state of the planet\, the environmental challenges and the important changes that are taking place. Then it will touch upon the work that the WWF has been doing for over 57 years\, and why and how they address the most pressing global issues. “Together possible” is the motto of the WWF. Under this encouraging appeal for collaboration\, we will see concrete actions that are taken to create a livable world for future\ngenerations. The goal is to inspire the audience with examples and ideas to become a change maker for our planet. As a follow-up to the presentation\, the WWF will be happy to offer IWCL members a chance to commit and take part in joint activities in Ticino. \nInez is a Belgian national who grew up in Luxemburg. In 1992\, she\nmoved to Switzerland to study Environmental Sciences at ETH Zürich\, earning a Masters degree in terrestrial ecology. After working for a US business consultancy for 4 years in Europe\, she moved to Lausanne to complete an MBA in General Management at IMD.\nBefore joining the WWF in 2013\, Inez worked for 9 years at a large multinational pharmaceutical company in Basel and Zug. Moving from a strategic business role to global marketing\, she launched and marketed new medicines and was the Marketing Director and member of the Executive Team for the generics’ business Sandoz Switzerland.\nInez joined the WWF as the Head of Philanthropy 5 years ago. This role perfectly combines her love of nature with her interest in people\, her shared values and individual motivations and passions.\nHer private and professional life has taken her all over Switzerland\, living in Zurich\, Lausanne and Basel; she now lives near Zurich with her husband and 3 children.\nMartina Venturini joined the philanthropy team of the WWF\nSwitzerland 2 years ago and is in charge of relations with\nintermediaries (lawyers\, family offices\, asset managers and banks) all over Switzerland and for philanthropy (all segments\, including foundations\, private donors\, etc.) in Ticino. She lives with Bernard in Cadro (TI) and Wallisellen (ZH)\, travelling weekly north-south. \nMartina – who has Italian origins – was born and grew up in the German speaking part of Switzerland (Thurgau) and studied economy and marketing in Zurich and St. Gallen. Before joining the WWF she managed a Corporate Foundation in Zurich for two years. Martina will illustrate what the WWF does in Ticino\, what each one of us can do against climate change and how the WWF and the IWCL could cooperate in the future.
